The hoops are precision rolled 1 1/2"
steel with an inside diameter
of 7'. Four mounting
tabs welded on and two additional tabs per hoop
are provided to weld on yourself. The tabs are used to mount
the jigs to the hoop, supporting the body shell like spokes in a
wheel.
The hoops
act
as a handle to rotate the body
shell when it is on
the
roller-bases,
so you do not need to
touch
the car with
your hands in order to move
it.
The hoops also provide extra
leverage which is very helpful
when you remove body pieces and the balance is effected.
When the body shell is sandblasted, the
hoops can roll directly on the ground allowing
the
operator
to move the shell as needed
without
worry of damaging
or getting sand in
any moving parts. Not to
mention he can get the job done
quicker.
The photos of the vehicle to the right
are of a 69' Dodge Super Bee in our standard size hoops. There
is plenty of room between the hoop and the quarter panel to perform
any restoration task. We do offer a larger size hoop to
accommodate the bigger cars.
